Borovets

Borovets (known until the middle of 20 century, like Chamkoria) is the oldest mountain resort in Bulgaria - dates from 1896, when King Ferdinand have build his summer residance. Today, Borovets is the biggest high-class resort.

He is situated at 1350 m altitude on the northern slopes of Rila mountain, 73 km from Sofia and 25 km from Plovdiv. The nearest town is Samokov, 10 km away.

The resort is famous ski center with a variety of ski runs - 24, with a length of 58 km. The tracks vary in difficulty and workload they are suitable for both beginners and advanced skiers and experts.
They are grouped in 3 regions: Sitnyakovo - Martinovi baraki, Markudjik and Yastrebets.
Borovets has twice hosted World Cup competitions in alpine style.

After the end of the day, the resort continues to be busy because of the established conditions for night skiing and many cozy taverns and bars. Borovets is a challenge and a favorite place for snowboarders, which also proposes different in complexity and workload and special areas midfielder pipe run with its own drag.
